INSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT

To help you become a better paddler, our guides will give instructional sessions on paddle and navigation technique. Our guides are chosen for their ability to provide you with and exciting and memorable wilderness vacation while caring for your safety at all times. Our guides' experience and technical qualifications, combined with communication skills and naturalist insights, place them amongst the very best in their field. We use NECKY Kayaks exclusively, and we provide the necessary camp gear.

When you decide on a tour, you will be sent detailed information on your trip, including and itinerary and equipment list. A medical form and a liability release form are also included.

No previous experience is required. Moderate physical fitness and adventurous spirit are all you need !

Ask about Arctic Expeditions and our outfitting service for Clayoquot Sound.

CLAYOQUOT SOUND, VANCOUVER ISLAND

Paddle with us on a journey traveled for over 5000 years ! Begin at our Pacific Base in the West Coast Village of Tofino. Kayak through wilderness island passages and mountain fjords past purest waterfalls and cleansing forests. Camp on endless beaches busy with the tracks of local animals. In the sea life abounds ! Orca and Gray whales quietly break still morning waters. Explore tidal pools teeming with starfish, anemone, mussels, and more.

No Kayak trip could have a more pleasant destination than Hot Springs Cove. Located at the tip of the Openit Peninsula, the steaming waters pour down smooth rocks to fill natural seaside pools. Soothe sore shoulders and wash away the salty sea spray in this fountain of rejuvenation ! Beachcombing or enchanting forest walks round out each day. Discover the diversity of land and marine ecosystems and observe close up the intricate harmony of nature. From Eagles soaring to Otters frolicking; from salmon leaping to inquisitive Seals; Clayoquot Sound is an unspoiled natural paradise.

We offer 1 day, 7 day, and 14 day tours. Come and enjoy !

Hike over perfect sand beaches with the soothing rhythm of Pacific waves to set your pace. Breathe deep the clean rich air as you hike the peaceful rain forests, so quiet you can hear your own heartbeat !

Observe Sea Lions basking on sunny rocks, Mink prying open a stubborn mussel, or Osprey showing off fresh caught fish !

Duration of the trek is 7 days and departs from Bamfield (north end) or Port Renfrew (south end).
